The first Part for Volume 19 of the Australian Journal of Administrative Law includes articles on the obligation of public authorities to consider human rights under the Victorian Charter and the history and development of illogicality as a species of jurisdictional error at common law. This Part also includes Casenotes, Civil and Political Rights and book reviews.
The last issue of AJCCL for 2011 includes an article and several sections on different aspects of competition and consumer law. The article comes from David Brewster and Verity Quinn and examines partial shareholdings and minority interests in mergers. The first ever issue of the Journal of Civil Litigation and Practice includes several interesting articles and sections on a wide range of topics. There are articles on the importance of early identification of issues in litigation, efficiency and cost in different legal cultures, security for costs against impecunious plaintiffs and preliminary discovery, discovery to identify a party and non-party discovery. There is also a book review and a Comments section. This new journal is not to be missed!
The last Part of the 2011 volume of the Building and Construction Law Journal includes articles on expert determination as a means of resolving general disputes arising under construction contracts and fixed time/fixed price collaborative contracts. There is also a Topic of Interest regarding suing for defects and joint or several tortfeasors. This issue also includes a book review and four Reports.
