Thomson Reuters is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor David Bamford as a brand new Book Review Editor for Journal of Civil Litigation and Practice.

David Bamford

In 2013 David returned to teaching and research after filling the role of Dean at Flinders Law School for 5 years. He joined Flinders Law School after practising as a lawyer in the areas of general civil litigation, workers compensation and industrial law. He remains interested in history and politics, the areas of his first degree. His research interests include the workings of the civil and criminal justice system, and the interaction between law and politics.  Commissioned research includes government consultancies that evaluate different aspects of the justice system including restorative justice, community justice and therapeutic court programmes. Recent publications include a book on civil litigation and book chapters on expert witnesses, ADR, and developments in Australian legal education.  David has been a visiting professor at universities in Canada, United Kingdom, Finland, Indonesia and South Africa.

David is a member of the Council of the International Association of Procedural Law,  a member of the Innovative Teaching Awards Committee of the International Association of Law Schools. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Judicial Administration and the Law Society of South Australia.

David is currently Associate Head (International) for the Faculty of Education, Humanities and Law at Flinders University and the Associate Dean (International) at the Law School.
