Dr Floyd has worked in employment law both in legal practise and in academic life. She is currently a Senior Lecturer at James Cook University, lecturing in Employment Law, and is the Director of Research for JCU Law.
Before this, she was a lecturer at the University of Queensland (UQ) (during this time, she consulted to the Queensland State Government’s Department of Employment and Industrial Relations), a Senior Lawyer at Crown Law in Employment Law, and then as Special Counsel in a Brisbane law firm.
