AS\/NZS ISO 31000:2009, the Australian\/ International Standard for risk management, has existed for over 20 years since 1995. Yet Australian construction contracts are typically adversarial in nature and offer up little to promote collaboration or active risk management to achieve good project outcomes. AS\/NZS ISO 31000:2009 is not referenced in any standard form contract used.
