As a result, the following question is left unanswered: how secret can it be? This article considers the relationship between the procedural rule that empowers the court to obtain confidential expert assistance and the requirement for the court to afford the parties procedural fairness.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/anzlaw.thomsonreuters.com\/Document\/I462d0dedbd2911ed90309797adf99bcc\/View\/FullText.html?transitionType=Default&amp;contextData=(sc.Default)&amp;VR=3.0&amp;RS=cblt1.0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em>The Breadth of the Power to Make Worldwide Freezing Orders: Deputy Commissioner of Taxation v Huang<\/em><\/strong><\/a> \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Rhea Thrift<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The recent decision of the High Court of Australia in <em>Deputy Commissioner of Taxation v Huang<\/em>, majority appears to have preferred practicality over principle in granting a worldwide freezing order in respect of assets outside of Australia where there were no prospects of enforcing any eventual judgment. In dissent, Edelman J determined that such an order could not be made for the purposes of the power to grant freezing orders.
