The latest issue of the Building and Construction Law Journal<\/em> (Volume 39 Part 3) contains the following material:<\/p>\n EDITORIAL \u2013 Editor: Michael Christie SC<\/em><\/p>\n The Common Law and Anglophone Construction Costs Problem: Lessons for Australia <\/em><\/strong><\/a>\u2013 Kristian Maley<\/p>\n Emerging research and scholarship regarding comparative construction costs shows a correlation between common law and Anglophone jurisdictions and high construction costs for public infrastructure. The author suggests that causation may be inferred from this correlation. With reference to international comparisons with law and public procurement practice in Italy, the European Union, and other jurisdictions, the author then identifies some distinctions with Australian law and practice which might provide fertile grounds for promoting Australian construction sector productivity.
