Titled <i>Regulating the Use of Human Bodily Material<\/i>, this Special Issue will include thought-provoking articles by a range of distinguished authors\u00c2\u00a0on how the law accommodates interests in the human body. A\u00c2\u00a0guest editorial by Professor Skene, <a title=\"Imogen Goold's bio\" href=\"http:\/\/www.law.ox.ac.uk\/profile\/imogen.goold\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Imogen Goold<\/a> and <a title=\"Professor Herring's bio\" href=\"http:\/\/www.law.ox.ac.uk\/profile\/herringj\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Professor Jonathan Herring<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0(both at the Faculty of Law of the University of Oxford) provides an overview of the topics covered, including the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>whether or not a property approach should be taken in regulating the use of human bodily material;<\/li>\n<li>whether the recognition of property rights in human tissue would enhance the protection of tissue donors\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 interests;<\/li>\n<li>the law of gifts and conditional donation; and<\/li>\n<li>the status of extra-bodily DNA samples obtained by police.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Under the careful guidance of founding editor, <a title=\"Dr Freckleton's website\" href=\"http:\/\/ianfreckelton.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dr Ian Freckelton SC<\/a>, JLM publishes approximately 240 pages of content every quarter, with all articles subject to peer review.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Now in its 21st year, the Journal of Law and Medicine (JLM) focuses on legal, medical and bioethical issues that arise at the dynamic nexus between health and the law.
