The <em>Family Law Act <\/em>empowers the court to make Orders to assist impecunious parties to meet those costs from the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153pool\u00e2\u20ac\u009d of property that is the subject of the litigation. Such orders have come to be known amongst legal practitioners as \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Hogan Orders\u00e2\u20ac\u009d, following the decision in the <em>Marriage of Hogan <\/em>(1986) 10 Fam LR 681.
