The 10th annual Workforce Conference will be held on 5 September 2011 at the Shangri-la Hotel in Sydney.
This year the theme is “There’s a fraction too much friction: Does the Fair Work Act cause more conflict than it resolves?”
When introduced by the Federal Government, it was claimed that the Fair Work Act would remove the friction felt between businesses and workers and would allow them to work well together. The reality has been slightly different. The Conference aims to have relevant Federal and NSW Ministers discussing their approach and speakers setting out ways in which to avoid the pitfalls provided by the friction-points, ie around changes to bargaining, dismissal and unions’ right-of-entry to workplaces.
Don’t miss out on your opportunity to meet other practitioners, employment lawyers, private and public sector human resource managers and policy makers. The Workforce Conference is the only IR conference put together by the specialist journalists who report on the issues every day of the week.
Register before 15 June and only pay $880 including GST (full price is $1,100 including GST).
More information can be on the Workforce Conference 2011 page, which will be regularly updated with speakers and other information as it comes to hand.
